The Gangneung Coffee Festival (강릉커피축제) takes place from October 21 to October 25, 2026, at Gangneung Coffee Street and areas throughout Gangneung in Gangwon-do. Since it began in 2009, the festival has celebrated the city's coffee culture, from the vending machines at Anmok Beach to the cafés and roasters of local coffee artisans.
About the festival
The festival traces its roots to the everyday memories created around the coffee vending machines at Anmok Beach and to the café and roasting culture built by local coffee artisans. It connects Gangneung's natural scenery, everyday culture and local businesses, bringing together residents, merchants, coffee professionals and visitors through programs in the humanities, arts and local culture.
It is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Gangwon State and Gangneung-si.

Late October by the sea can get pretty chilly, especially in the mornings and evenings.
Looking at the forecast, it's a good idea to bring a warm jacket or an extra layer to stay comfortable when the temperature drops.
There's a chance of light drizzle on October 21 and 24, so packing a small umbrella or a lightweight rain jacket would be a smart move. October 22 and 23, on the other hand, are looking sunny and lovely for a day out.
